We are a Certified Invisalign Teen Provider
Many teens who have not yet had braces, are embarrassed by getting metal braces that appear obvious to others. Not only that, they are concerned about playing sports and other physical activities with the risk of having braces. Luckily, there is an alternative to traditional braces with Invisalign Teen. Invisalign uses invisible plastic aligners placed over the teeth to help straighten the teeth. They are removable and don’t stain the teeth, but are safe when playing sports and participating in daily activities.

The plastic aligners used with Invisalign Teen work the same way as braces, though the aligners are placed over the teeth, instead of metal or ceramic brackets. Impressions are made of the teen’s teeth, after which their first set of aligners is created. They are instructed to wear the aligners at all times, except for when they are eating, or brushing and flossing their teeth. They return to their orthodontist for the next set of aligners. Each set continues straightening their teeth and correcting their bite.
Candidates for Invisalign Teen
Invisalign Teen are an acceptable option for most orthodontic situations. Mild and moderate overcrowding, teeth alignment and space issues, and bite issues, can be corrected with Invisalign Teen. However, more severe cases of orthodontics will need traditional braces. Most teenagers are able to wear Invisalign without problem, and usually only need to wear them for 1-2 years. They tend to be worn less time than traditional braces.
Benefits of Invisalign Teen
Teenagers specifically will find many benefits to getting Invisalign. The most obvious benefit is feeling more confident and not being embarrassed by having braces. Most adolescents get braces when they are several years younger, so teenagers are used to no longer having braces. But if they have not gotten them yet, access to Invisalign can convince them that corrective orthodontic treatment doesn’t have to be a difficult process. Other benefits include being able to participate in outdoor activities, eating whatever they want, and removing the aligners. They are also more comfortable to wear and don’t stain the teeth like braces sometimes do.
Teenagers find that there are many advantages to getting Invisalign. If your teen is against wearing braces because of the discomfort level or they don’t want others knowing they are wearing braces, Invisalign is the perfect alternative. They are just as effective as other types of braces, but are often worn even less time. All they need to do is visit their orthodontist every few weeks to take more impressions and get a new set of aligners. It is a small price to pay for a beautiful, long-lasting smile.
